How often will I receive a
water bill?
The Village bills for water and refuse (garbage) every other month.
Beginning May
1, 2011, each residence will be subject to a monthly charge of $20.00 for refuse (garbage pickup) and
a miniumum charge of $47.50 per billing cycle for water. Any water usage over 10,000 gallons uring the two
month cycle will be billed at a rate of $4.75 per thousand gallons. The due date for each cycle is
located on the left hand side of the card, above the box with the account number.
How
do I get a garbage can?
Recycle carts on wheels, with lids will likely be delivered by Groot to each residence
beginning on December 20. All deliveries should be completed before Christmas. Please continue using the handheld
bins until that time. Groot will not pick up your bin when dropping off the new cart. If your recycling cart is
full, the bin may be used as an additional supplement for recycled materials.
If you do not receive your recycle cart during the week of Dec.
19, please contact the Village and we will assist you with securing a wheeled recycle cart.
If you have received your recycle cart and place recyclable materials
in the hand held bin for collection after the week of Dec. 19, Groot will not pick up the contents of the hand
held recycle bin.
Please
call the Village during normal business hours and provide name, address, ownership information, closing date and move-in date
for your residence. Village staff will notify the disposal company and you should receive your can (with
recycle bin) within 2-4 weeks.
As of June 1, 2009 all subdivisions will have their garbage picked up on Monday.
Place your cans out the night before the pick up day, as the disposal company will come through very early in the
morning. If, for any reason, your garbage is not picked up please contact Village Hall as soon as possible.
Village staff will make every effort to try to get your garbage picked up that same day.
The following holidays are observed: New Year's Day, Memorial
Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday will be
an off day with service delayed one day the remainder of the week.

The Village of Volo Village Hall is located at 500 S. Fish Lake Road, at the intersection
of Highway 60 and Fish Lake Road.
